We are proud to announce that Denmark Surf Life Saving Club (DSLSC) has taken out the prestigious award of WA Club of the Year at the SLSWA Awards of Excellence in Perth recently.

The Club was among five finalists and the only regional Club in the running, beating North Cottesloe (2nd), Fremantle (3rd), Sorrento and Trigg Island.

Club President Jane Kelsbie said: “To win this Award is amazing for our Club and for all our members who make the Club what it is – a great, family friendly, inspiring and fun place to be where everyone is encouraged to ‘have a go’.”

The Club has had an outstanding 12 months with incredible membership growth of a record breaking 295 members including 122 juniors, and great engagement with members of all ages and abilities.

Ms Kelsbie added that, while the Award was for the Club’s activities in the 2017/18 season, it’s a culmination of the hard work put in by past as well as present members and volunteers.

“Every member, our supporters and the Denmark community have the right to be feel very proud. We might be a small club but we’re making big noises.”

Congratulations to all our members who make our Club so worthy of this award.
